Talk Talk call centre in India are worse I have nearly burst a blood vessel talking to them.

They don't listen to you as they don't actually understand English they just read from the script in front of them and try to understand the yes or no you reply

I tell them I have already done all the testing and they ask me have you rebooted the router, does your phone work ? (I am calling you from it etc etc

Bungo, it's not just you, I lived there for twenty years and at first, it was terribly frustrating, I had to repeat myself every time, in the end, I just adopted their accent and it worked

I think I've not got much of an accent at all, brought up aylesbury/oxford way, an hour outside london. If they can't understand what i'm saying when i'm repeating it over and over, clear as day, what chance of they have of understanding geordies or scousers?

Spoke to a woman from Barclays mortgages in India the other day and she was very polite and helpful, although not sure I like the term "to do the needful".

Re: BT Indian Call Centre
On a related note, I've just got back from Florida where it seems many of the inhabitants struggle to grasp simple questions asked in English.

Not entirely clear if this was a problem with language, my very ordinary southern England accent, or just brain dead Walmart and gas station employees, but it did make me wonder if I was in an English speaking country sometimes.

Hate them, can't understand a word they're saying, sounds like tak tak tak tak

Re: BT Indian Call Centre
The one i just spoke to (moving homes, order management) was altrincham. the bloke actually answered the phone by saying he was based there so i reckon it's something that annoys a lot of people.

Re: BT Indian Call Centre
Just been on the phone to them again but someone uk based this time (although indian sounding)

Think the trick is not to call in the evening if you want to avoid Delhi Central.

Vodafone and TalkTalk are just as bad with the same thing.

Agree about Indian call centres but I think they have reduced them lately.

The last 2 times I've phoned BT to get a special offer I have dealt with an English person UK based. Not had a problem TBF.

Stick with sky

People whinge about all providers, but I've never had a customer service problem with sky - always very helpful

Re: BT Indian Call Centre
was on the phone to them yesterday, was on hold for about 5 minutes, then it took 8 minutes for the guy to locate my account. that might not sound like a long time but when you're repeating your postcode and spelling every line of your address over and over again it's a lifetime. fuck knows how they deal with geordies, brummies and scousers.

he finally got my details right and found my account, said he'd put me on hold and then transferred to one of his colleagues (not sure if that was by accident or on purpose) and i had to start all over again.

useless cunts

Re: BT Indian Call Centre
Been having the same myself for three yrs.
Just cancelled and now they offer me a new line.
After 18yrs of loyalty, Virgin gets put in today..
Monkeys at a switchboard their customer support.
Everytime it rained my connection dropped, shit external line with splits all over and they wouldn't replace,
Fuck em...
